Fruit Logistica Berlin 2026 — the world's largest fresh produce trade fair — provided Tanzanian exporters with a high-profile stage to demonstrate the country's growing ambitions in international horticulture. Among the standout participants was Kostiv Tanzania Group Ltd, whose display of premium Hass avocados from farms in Njombe and the Southern Highlands drew significant attention from European buyers.

Quality That Speaks for Itself

The avocados on display were harvested from Kostiv's farms situated above 1,500 metres in elevation — conditions that produce fruit with the dense, creamy texture and extended shelf life that European retailers prize. Buyers from the Netherlands, Germany, and the United Kingdom expressed particular interest, with several requesting samples for laboratory testing ahead of potential commercial agreements.

Part of a Broader Tanzania Delegation

Kostiv was among a delegation of eleven Tanzanian exporters and government representatives attending Fruit Logistica, coordinated by TAHA and the Ministry of Agriculture. The delegation used the occasion to promote HortiLogistica Africa 2026, generating significant interest from European logistics companies, cold chain technology providers, and packaging suppliers considering exhibiting at the Arusha event.

Tanzania's avocado export volumes have grown by more than 60% over the past three years. With Kilimanjaro International Airport expanding its fresh cargo handling capacity and new packhouse investments coming online in 2026, the sector is well positioned to accelerate further.
